RWT Commercial Services, based in the home of ingenuity – Britain’s Black Country engineering heartland, is best known for the supply, installation and while-you-wait cleaning of diesel particulate filters. Now, in response to customer demand, this versatile company is strengthening its repair and maintenance service division. In addition it is now supplying and using the new Maxima wireless heavy-duty column lifts (7.5 tonne per leg), selling them at around £13,000. RWT is also branching out into the stocking and fitting of new, competitively priced, truck, trailer and van tyres.
RWT has been using the new lifting equipment in their own workshop for six months to ensure its reliability. Beneficially the wireless columns have no cables trailing the floor for any trip hazard. Their battery packs are charged via a 240V supply and are fully weatherproof.
What is more, the firm has recently replaced its service fleet with new Ford Transit Custom vans, two of which are regularly in the London area carrying out installations and re-certifications for logistics companies and vehicles in the public sector.
Reprofiling service for brake discs
Steadily expanding services in response to customer demand, RWT is now providing a reprofiling service for brake discs on trucks and buses. This enables a disc to be reprofiled without stripping the hub or caliper from the vehicle. The process can be carried out either in the RWT workshop or at the customer’s own premises. The new mobile service comes into operation on January 5th.
A new 3.5t transit van will be fitted with a screw compressor, driven by its engine to allow the engineer to remove the wheels from the vehicle on site. The van also carries a stock of disc pads so that, as a further service, should a new disc be required, then RWT will supply quality discs and drums at very competitive prices, along with air brake chambers.
